While I took my little break from blogging to move, I discovered an amazing product, doTERRA! There are thousands of uses for doTERRA essential oils and it is all natural. It is a product for everyone. I had first heard of doTERRA essential oils about a year ago when I burned the palm of my hand baking and a friend used some lavender oil to soothe the burn. The pain completely vanished within seconds of her applying the oil. It was so amazing! This time I was able to try several different essential oils and witness their healing powers.
The essential oil I am going to talk about today is a blend of several oils called Breathe. It has laurel leaf, tea tree, eucalyptus, lemon, and peppermint oils in it and is used to clear stuffy noses from allergies and common colds. Something that I have learned over the past year, as I have been very dedicated about nursing my baby, is that EVERYTHING affects nursing and there are a lot of drugs and medications you cannot take while nursing, particularly decongestants. Decongestants will dry your milk up just like they will dry up a runny nose. Anyways, the last few weeks I had been fighting a nasty cold and there was not a lot I could do for it. My mother-in-law has really gotten into doTERRA and she let me use some Breathe to help clear my nose. I simply would apply the oil on the tip of my nose before going to bed and after I showered in the morning and my nose was clear until my cold eventually went away. It worked just as well as a powerful drug to clear my nose and sinuses but it was all natural. I was excited about this discovery and I wanted to learn more about the doTERRA company. I did my research and tested some of the oils and was fascinated. The essential oils that I tried and loved were lavender for burns, sleep aid, and headaches; peppermint for headaches and anxiety; lemon for lifting the mood; oregano for killing warts (gross, I know, but it totally works); melaleuca for clean fungus-free feet.
