FAMILY TRIP TO BEAR LAKE

At the beginning of July, we spent some time in Bear Lake with family. We had a blast and I was able to get some great pictures of Florabelle. Florabelle was in heaven with all her cousins, space to run, sunshine and water. Augustus was happy just snoozing in his car seat. We soaked up sun, swam, and drank colas and Capri Suns all day! There are few things I love more than swimming in the sun! One of my dreams is to own an outdoor swimming pool one day so I can have moments like these all the time!

BEACH WAVES FOR STRAIGHT HAIR (W/OUT HEAT)

I love messy, Victoria's Secret model, beachy hair but my hair is fine, flat and straight. Don't get me wrong, I love my hair. Its naturally smooth, soft, shiny and easy to style but from time to time I like to switch it up and who doesn't want to look even just a little bit like a Victoria's Secret model. I am always looking for new products to achieve this natural messy look without having to spend a lot of time on it (I am a mom of two!) or having to damage it with heat. I am very excited to introduce to you these products from AG that helped me to get this look. They are Beach Bomb and Texture Spray. So many beachy hair products either weigh my hair down and make it greasy or dry it out and make it frizzy! Amazingly these products do neither but manage to make my hair healthier. Before I bought these products, (I bought them in a set called Beachy Bliss) I went online to read the description and was a bit skeptical because of all the things it claimed to do. At first, this product sounded to good to be true but, lucky for me, it wasn't! I just apply 1 to 2 pumps of the Beach Bomb then scrunch my hair real good and let it air dry or diffuse it. Then once it is dry I use the texture spray scrunching a little more to give my hair volume, definition, and piece-y-ness Both products smell A-M-A-Z-I-N-G! Here is just a bit more information on each product and why I love them:
Beach Bomb
This product has a coconut verbana smell that takes you right to the beach! Beach Bomb contains a special ingredient in it that enhances curl. It also has proteins and amino acids that give the hair strength, moisture, elasticity, and shine. It is free of alcohol, parabens, and salt making hair smooth and shiny rather than frizzy. READ MORE ABOUT AG BEACH BOMB HERE >>

Texture Spray
The AG Texture Spray smells like a high quality perfume and has sunflower seed extract in it to protect hair color from UV rays that can cause discoloration. It doesn't make hair greasy or weigh it down but gives hair a languid "lived in" look. I used this spray when I styled my hair straight and it was awesome. A lot of people love second day hair, I personally love clean hair, but I imagine that this product gives that second day feeling that people love so much. READ MORE ABOUT AG TEXTURE SPRAY HERE >>

DAY 2 OF PHOTO CHALLENGE

Today, for my 30 day photo challenge, I needed to take a picture of my outfit. Because I am a mom of two now, I am wearing a lot of jeans and t-shirts and keeping things simple and comfortable. I try to make my look stylish with accessories. Some trends that I am loving right now are boyfriend jeans and chunky strap sandals. I really like the tattered and torn boyfriend jeans but this particular pair I found at Target and I had to have them. I can't resist dark denim. I just love it! There is something about dark jeans that just makes me feel put together. I got the sandals at Ross and they are Rampage brand. The sunglasses and earrings were gifts that my husband picked out. He finds some pretty great stuff like these bow earrings! I love them; they are a go to accessory for me. The bracelet is a THRIFT STORE FIND that I will share more info on later.  Hope you enjoy!

UPDATE

So I have been super busy and unmotivated to write the last 9 months due to being pregnant, working full time, and taking care of my sweet baby girl who is not much of a baby any more. Here is a little of what we have been up to the last few months
Halloween- Florabelle was a wind up doll and we took her trick or treating at the law school.
One of Florabelle's haircuts
Getting ready to be a big sister.
8 months pregnant at Wyoming's Formal Law Ball.

I quit my job about six weeks ago and my life feels so much easier and more... blissful (even though I am very very pregnant and can have this little man any day). Sorry, I never wrote to announce we are having a BOY!  We are so excited to have a new little member of our family and for Florabelle to be a big sister. I am biased but I swear she is going to be the cutest and best big sister ever! She loves babies!
After I become a mom of two, I really hope to focus more on my family and doing things I love, this includes writing on the blog more consistently. So look for more posts in the upcoming months! I would love to hear from you!

FAVORITE HAIR PRODUCT

I feel like it is about time I talk about one of my all-time favorite hair products, Powder Play by Sexy Hair. At the salon I work at, we can barely keep this product on the shelves. All the stylists love it and the clients do, too. I am not really sure how to describe this product to those of you who have never tried it or heard of a volumizing powder. All I can say is that it is a volumizing and texturizing powder that gives the hair volume without drying it out like so many other volumizing products. It is unlike anything else on the market and I recommend it for almost all hair styles. To apply, lightly sprinkle the powder on dry hair at the root, you can then use your fingers to distribute the product evenly. The best part about Sexy Hair products (in my opinion) is that they sale online! So many hair care lines are only guaranteed when sold by a salon so I am happy to provide you with a place to purchase this wonderful stuff without trying to track down a local salon that sales it.

THRIFT STORE FIND AND BIG NEWS

Hello friends, I feel like it has been too long since my last post. I have been busy with my new job, my little girl, and Skyler starting law school. I also have been under the weather because I am expecting!!! Things feel so crazy and we definitely were not planning on having another little one at the moment. I had an IUD in place and I was hoping to wait til the hubby was closer to being done with law school to have another baby. The percentage of pregnancy with my particular IUD was less than 1% so I am still a little shocked but I also feel humbled, blessed, and maybe as though it is meant to be. Being a mother is an amazing gift. I am not very far along and because I had an IUD, there is a higher risk of a miscarriage. However, I had the IUD safely removed and both the baby and I are looking great. Skyler and I are excited to be parents again and optimistic for what our future holds.

On another note, I found this lovely watch at a thrift store in town! Isn't it so cute? And it is real leather too! I have been doing a lot of shopping in thrift stores because it is the only place in town where I can get unique clothing and accessories. Hopefully, you are inspired by my wonderful "Thrift Store Finds" and will want to be more thrifty with your spending. (Although, sometimes it is necessary to splurge for wardrobe staples and quality pieces) I snagged this beautiful piece of jewelry for $4!! CHECK OUT THESE SIMILAR WATCHES AT TARGET THAT COST 10 TIMES MORE THAN WHAT I PAID!!!.

HAIR COLOR FOR YOUR SKIN TONE

Are you thinking of changing your hair color? There are some things you should know before taking the plunge. Everyone's skin tone falls into one of three categories: warm, cool, and neutral. Depending on what skin tone you have will determine what shades of red, blonde and brunette will look best on you. To determine your skin tone I have a few simple tests for you:

First, look at the veins on your inner wrist. Are they blue, green or somewhere in between? If they are blue or bluish purple, you have a cool skin tone. If they are green, you have a warm skin tone. And if it's in between, you guessed it, you have a neutral skin tone.

Second, do you look better in silver jewelry or gold jewelry? Despite what the popular trend is, most people look better in either gold or silver. If you look good in gold, you are warm. If you look good in silver, you are cool. If you honestly look good in both, you are fortunate and have neutral skin.

The third way to tell if your skin is warm or cool is to think about the colors you look best in. If your skin tone is warm you look good in oranges, peaches, yellows, mocha browns, and ivory. Cool skin tones look best in rosy pinks, silvers, plums, greens, blues, and pure whites.

If you still can't figure out what skin tone you have after all three of those tests then you are probably a neutral. I have a neutral skin tone but there are colors in both schemes that just do not suit me. I would say that I lean more to the cool side unless I have a tan then I am definitely more warm.

HAIR COLOR and YOU

WARM
If your skin tone is warm, your hair color should have warm tones in it. You may prefer the platinum blondes that you have seen everybody with, but if your skin is warm go for the golden blonde shades. If you are worried about looking too orange or yellow, express your concerns with your stylist and they can use a good toner to prevent that. If you are going red and you have warm skin, opt for true red shades, ones with no violet. And if your are going brown, golden brown shades will work best for you; think copper, mocha, and chocolate colors.
Hair Color for Every Skin Tone

COOL
If you have a cool skin tone, color with cool or neutral tones will do wonders for your skin. Again you may prefer a certain tone but if your skin is cool, stick to the cool colors. If you are wanting to go red please stay away from fiery reds! Think natural, blue, ash, and violet tones. I have provided EXCELLENT examples of red, blonde, and brunette shades for both cool and warm hair, all of which are BEAUTIFUL. What hair colors do you like best?

NEUTRAL
All my neutral palette gals out there, you can go with any color! LUCKY YOU!
